Training

safety first consultancy - helping you to provide a safe legal service

Welcome to our new website!

The taxi trade is the only trade, which can (and does) offer a door to door service for the young and the elderly: to and from schools, whether main stream or special needs; to the hospital or doctors surgeries; to the local shops and airports; railway stations; and evenings out. We also deliver parcels and goods in transit.

Therefore it is vital that all drivers follow certain guidelines which will enable them to provide a service which promotes safety, equality, and accessibility. The courses provided by Safety First Training have been devised to promote such standards.

Safety First have joined Thurrock and Basildon College as trade training partners. Together we have developed a unique training package that meets the trade’s requirements. It is not highbrow; but, instead, low key, thought provoking, and with an element of fun.

At present we are delivering the course to the Southend-On-Sea Taxi and Private Hire trade where it has become the main talking point on the ranks. We have a waiting list of over one hundred drivers and we now deliver four courses a week in this Borough. Moreover, we have a further three hundred delegates in other Boroughs and District Councils patiently awaiting a start date for our courses in their areas.

I am pleased to report that Safety First has become the only training provider to have developed, and had accredited (through Basildon and Essex Fire and Rescue Services) an Emergency Vehicle Evacuation Course. This course constitutes part of our NVQ2 training.

I am also pleased to tell you that Essex Disability has invited us into the college at Rocheway, Rochford as their training arm. They have applauded our professional training and commended us on the variety of wheelchairs and wheelchair securing equipment we provide on the courses, which enable the delegates to familiarise themselves with its safety aspects and therefore fulfill their duty of care to the travelling
public.

We are happy to significantly discount our normal fees for charitable organisations
